Levitation

Not too long ago, my class period and I were given an assignment where we needed to make someone seem like they levitating. I took many pictures but these 2 specific ones stood out to me and I'm endlessly proud of it.

To take these kind of illusion photos, we had to use a Canon Camera EOS Rebel T5, tripod, and a stool. The tripod helped kept the camera still and steady while the stool was for the person to be on, which was brushed out into the background photo to make the levitation effect.

When planning out ideas I was considering going to locations with direct sunlight, that way I could get a shadow and make it even more realistic. I also chose locations that weren't close to walls, that way I can get more space to take my photos.

For the props in this photo, I used some hula-hoops along with the assistance of 2 people. One person held up Cristina's (the main subject) hair while holding the hula-hoop closest to her top half while another person held the hula-hoop closest towards her bottom half. In this photo, Cristina is laying on a stool to give off the illusion.

I believe this picture came out perfect and better than I expected it to be. I am very happy with the results, especially my works with airbrushing out everything evenly and perfectly. I say the only thing I wish to improve is the steadiness of the camera with the tripod since it was a little wobbly.

For the props in this photo, all I used was a book. Cristina used to book to make it seem like she was multitasking; reading and levitating. We also used the same stool in this photo. I had Cristina raise her legs a bit more to make it seem more realistic as her being in a normal sitting position would look too unrealistic in my opinion.

I believe this photo came out good. I think the halls help it look extra professional looking. It's very simple looking but yet beautiful, even after all the editing. The only thing I wish to improve is to lower the camera and tripod. It's way too above and doesn't show her bottom, which makes it more realistic. I also wish I could've moved to the main hall, that way I could've gotten a good shadow.
